More About

Luke Rollason is a comedian, writer, actor, and professional clown! He attended clown school in France at École Philippe Gaulier, but prefers the term “physical comedian” as opposed to clown.

After graduating, he moved to London and began performing stand-up comedy with his own homemade props. Inspired by physical comedian Trygve Wakenshaw, Luke saw the potential of what he could do on stage.

He has now performed at Brighton Festival (2022) and at four Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.

In 2022, Luke set up the Luke Rollason Memorial Bursary to encourage performers from alternative backgrounds to bring unusual approaches to comedy. The bursary offers the cost of their registration fee, contributions to marketing, and free space for rehearsal.

As well as his comedy, Luke is an actor and was cast in the Disney+ series Extraordinary as a shapeshifting cat and human. Mike Hale of the New York Times wrote that he “played the part with great charm”. He has also starred in Industry and Becoming Elizabeth.

Luke’s short film Quiet Life (2024) won Luke the BAFTA for Best Short Film at the 2025 ceremony, and it has since been played on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. He has since become a regular writer and star of CBBC’s sketch comedy Horrible Science.
