Jules O’Brian is a stand-up comedian, writer and former English teacher whose sharp wit and unflinching honesty have made her a truly engaging voice on the UK comedy circuit.

After sixteen years working in education, Jules swapped the classroom for the comedy club, drawing on her experiences of teenage chaos, single motherhood and midlife reinvention.

Her debut solo show Avoid Excessive Cleavage (and Other Advice to Ignore) has been praised for its blend of humour, vulnerability and relatable storytelling.

Since making her mark on the Midlands and national circuits, Jules has supported acts including Hal Cruttenden and Luisa Omielan, performing at leading venues and festivals across the UK and abroad – from Manchester’s Frog & Bucket to the Altitude Comedy Festival in Austria.

A regular voice on BBC Radio and featured on BBC News for her inspiring journey from classroom to comedy, Jules has also written for Prima and Mama Life magazines.

Jules O’Brian’s e-book, created to help anxious students prepare for GCSE exams, has been downloaded by readers across the UK and beyond.

She also hosts a monthly podcast combining humour and heart, tackling everything from ageing disgracefully to navigating the ups and downs of creative life.
