Jon Harvey | Count Binface

Count Binface is an “intergalactic space warrior, leader of the Recyclons from planet Sigma IX, Lovejoy fan, two-times candidate for London mayor, and three-time candidate in UK General Elections”.

His political tale started in 2017 when he ran for election against former Prime Minister Theresa May – launching him to viral status. He then took on Boris Johnson at the 2019 election. Count Binface can also boast that he stood to be Mayor of London twice, once in 2021 and then again in 2024, winning over 24,000 votes on both occasions.

In 2022, Count Binface released his satirical book, What on Earth? An Alien’s Guide to Fixing Britain where he shared his life story and his political beliefs

Jon’s debut book written under his own name, A Fan For All Seasons: A Journey Through Life and Sport, was published in 2024. It’s a memoir about sport, grief, and his brother Dan who died in 2015 aged just 43. It received rave reviews in The Sunday Times and The Daily Mail.

Jon has also written for several national and international publications, including The Times, The Evening Standard, The Sunday Times, Paris Match, The Big Issue, NME, Private Eye, and The Nightwatchman.

He is an experienced scriptwriter for awards shows, bringing scripts to life with comic flair for the ARIAs (the Oscars of the radio world) and the British Arrows Advertising Awards.

Jon has been a presenter on Times Radio in 2024, taking the host’s seat for a number of high-profile slots, including several shows across the festive period. He also regularly hosts the Friday evening arts and culture show.

He has also presented programmes for BBC Radio, BBC Radio 4, and 5 Live, and has presented numerous classics-based programmes, including “Could an Ancient Athenian Fix Britain”, and “Happy 2,500^th to the Brave 300”.

Alongside radio, Jon has written, produced, and starred in a number of major TV shows, including The Thick Of It, Have I Got News For You, Time Trumpet with Armando Iannucci, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Only Connect, Yes Minister, Fantasy Football League, The Last Leg, Comic Relief, Newsnight, The Revolution Will Be Televised, Brexageddon, Revolting, The Late Edition, Vidiotic, Room 101 and the BBC’s coverage of The Hundred.
