More About
Catherine Bohart didn’t start her career in comedy. After studying law, French and history, she went on to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, qualifying in Acting for Screen, intending to become an actress. But this never took off, so she transitioned into comedy in 2014.
Catherine’s debut Edinburgh Fringe solo show ‘Immaculate’ in 2018 was described by The Telegraph as “the sort of perfectly structured Edinburgh debut you always hope for and rarely get to see”. Her show the following year, ‘Lemon’, was just as successful, selling out every night and kicking off a UK-wide tour. With fellow comedian Helen Bauer, Catherine founded the online stand-up gig ‘Gigless’, which won them a JOE.ie Award for Best Online Show, and a Chortle Award for Legend of Lockdown.
She can often be seen on television and radio entertainment shows, including Mock the Week (2021), Late Night Mash (2021), The Dierdre O’Kane Show (2021), Between the Covers (2022), A League of Their Own (2021), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (2019-2020), and Richard Osman’s House of Games (2020). Catherine is also a talented actor, with credits including Mawaan Rizwan’s BBC sitcom Juice and the sketch show Lazy Susan for BBC Three. Catherine is currently filming a dark comedy series These Sacred Vows for RTE.
In 2024, she filmed LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland for worldwide release on Amazon Prime. Catherine has done the continuity announcements for Comedy Central for the last four years. She has been heard across BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Scotland, and BBC Radio London, on shows including Loose Ends, The Museum of Curiosity, and Newsjack.
Catherine is also a proficient podcast host. In 2019, she and her girlfriend at the time, Sarah Keyworth, created You’ll Do, where they discuss what makes a relationship work. She hosts the Trusty Hogs podcast, which involves Catherine and Helen Bauer discussing the drama in their lives, as well as advising a listener on a problem with the help of their guests, which include Ed Gamble, James Acaster, and Fern Brady. She has appeared on several successful podcasts, including Scarlett Moffatt Wants to Believe, Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, and Off Menu. Catherine is also the host of the official Comic Relief podcast It’s My Party, released in 2025.
