Comedic actor, writer and presenter, Adam Buxton shot to fame as one half of the Channel 4 programme The Adam and Joe Show (1996-2001) alongside fellow comedian Joe Cornish. Despite ending in 2001, the show continues to have an online following in the millions on YouTube.
Subsequent TV projects for the pair include Takeover TV, Shock Video (2001-2002) and Adam and Joe Go Tokyo! (2003) They have also had success on the radio, appearing on several programmes for XFM and BBC Radio 6. Adam and Joe continue to hold and build upon a major cult following as comedy commentators.
The pair were so popular and successful they won a range of industry awards. In 1998 they won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Newcomers, the Broadcasting Press Guild award in 2008 for Radio Programme of the Year, the Silver Sony Award in 2009 for Best Entertainment Programme and a Sony Gold for Best Comedy Show in 2010.
Adam Buxton is a versatile, highly experienced, humorous and personable act. Away from the duo, Adam Buxton has starred in some of the UK’s best-loved programmes including Channel 4’s The IT Crowd starring fellow Great British Speaker Richard Ayoade and Rush Hour (2016) and BBC’s audio recording of Doctor Who (2001), as well as The Persuasionists (2010) and Time Trumpet (2006). He can be seen on comedy panel shows such as Have I Got News For You (2007), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (2011) and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (2014). He also co-wrote and starred in The Last Chancers (2002) on Channel 4 and made appearances in the 2007 feature films Hot Fuzz, Stardust and Son of Rambow.

In 2005, Adam made his theatrical debut at the Edinburgh festival with I, Pavel, which chronicled the story of a temperamental avant-garde artist through short films and stand-up comedy. In 2012, his live show BUG, in which he reviews music videos and examines YouTube comments was made into a popular TV show for Sky Atlantic. In 2013, he performed a live one-man show Kernel Panic, self-described as a “funny TED talk”, he talked audiences through the contents of his computer as well as other random online findings. Then in 2014, he presented a Christmas show from his own garden shed in the adeptly titled Adam Buxton’s Shed of Christmas.
Adam has been running his own podcast, The Adam Buxton Podcast, since 2015, with guests including Louis Theroux, Charlie Brooker, Caitlin Moran, Michael Palin and Romesh Ranganathan. The podcast was named the Best Online Comedy Talk Show at the Online Radio Awards, the Podcast Champion title at the British Podcast Awards, and the Internet Award from Chortle.
Adam released his first book, Ramble Book, in 2020. It comprises of a series of essays about his childhood growing up in the 1980s, his friends, family and relationships, as well as the films, TV shows and must that have helped define him as a person. He has also offered his narrative skills to the ‘Ladybird Classic Me Book’ application on stories including Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Three Little Pigs.

Adam is a regular guest at corporate events, having hosted the BAFTA Video Game Awards, the YouTube Media Awards, the Q Awards, the CADS (Creative and Design) Awards, and Central Office of Information’s Anniversary launch night at the National Film Theatre. Adam and Joe were also asked to present BBC Three’s coverage of the Glastonbury festival in 2000 and 2002.
